Don't the cuticles of leaves have water repelling properties? Is it these parts from which Scientists are taking the polymers? I may be getting this all a bit confused but I'm trying - it's interesting! Having read the article, I'd also like to know why our canteen switched to plastic, throwaway cutlery, particularly when so much of it ends up in the bin which is supposed to be for food waste only - a worthwhile environmentally sensitive endeavour counteracted by the use of plastic forks!
